Design Engineers - Multiple opportunities across Highways, Drainage, Structures & Active Travel projects

Our client is currently looking to recruit Design Engineers to work on the Suffolk Highways contract in Ipswich. They have multiple design engineer opportunities within their team.
As a Design Engineer, you will be part of our Design team who are responsible for producing design solutions to maintain and improve highway infrastructure in Suffolk.
As a Design Engineer your duties & responsibilities will be:
1. Produce design packages, reports, and other deliverables to achieve project outcomes;
2. Organise and undertake site visits and surveys;
3. Deliver successful projects to agreed time and cost expectations whilst ensuring work is undertaken in compliance with internal quality standards and processes;
4. Ensure work is undertaken in compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation;
5. Resource planning and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary teams, including sub-consultants;
6. Staff and people management including training and development and staff performance reviews;
7. Working collaboratively with customers to understand and develop project objectives and deliverables;
8. Managing, building, and developing customer relationships.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
1. Incorporated Engineer or highly experienced engineer working towards IEng / CEng;
2. Design and construction experience in the highways/Drainage/Structures sector;
3. A commercial awareness in the delivery of projects;
4. Awareness / experience of Local Highway Authority standards;
5. Evidence of developing assistant engineers, graduates, and technicians;
6. Working knowledge of programming tools such as ASTA;
7. Evidence of managing Health & Safety & Environment in design and construction;
8. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other design software including for drainage, alignment, and traffic signs desirable;
9. Computer literate particularly with packages such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
