Building Porter
Job Summary/Goals
The building porter reports to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for assisting the FM Operation delivering services to their Client JP Morgan. Working within the Fabric Maintenance Team, responding to requests whilst carrying out their duties efficiently and effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
1. To monitor and complete helpdesk generated tasks and update facilities of their progress.
2. To carry out daily planned tasks and PPM’s assigned to the buildings.
3. To work ensuring all equipment and store rooms are kept clean, well maintained and are in a safe working order.
4. To move furniture and arrange area ready for events around the campus.
5. To carry out porterage and minor handyman jobs.
6. To complete room set ups as required.
7. To report any maintenance defects to the helpdesk.
8. To ensure that a high standard of personal hygiene is maintained. Pay particular attention to general appearance.
EHS
9. Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training.
10. Report Good catches/Near Misses.
11. To wear protective clothing (PPE) as issued.
Requirements
12. Experience in facilities, property management or related field.
13. Excellent people skills and ability to interact with a wide range of client staff and demands.
14. PC literacy and proven ability to manage daily activities using various systems.
15. To deal with any complaints that fall within job holder’s duties and report these immediately to the Facilities manager.
16. To perform miscellaneous duties which are within the job holder’s capability according to the needs of the business or as instructed by the FM Team.
Additional Duties And Responsibilities
17. Out of hours and weekend working may be required from time to time as business needs dictate.
Skills
18. A can do, positive out look with basic computer skills. Be physically fit and able to regularly lift weight in excess or 20kg

19. Must be extremely organised and able to prioritise a demanding workload.
20. Strong attention to detail.
21. Confident personality, able to deal with diverse population and situations.
22. Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
23. Able to work on their own initiative.
24. Good verbal communication skills. Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills.
25. Customer focused.
Experience
26. Competent working in a commercial, office environment.
27. Practical experience and a working knowledge of building maintenance.
