We are a friendly, forward-thinking GMS surgery situated in the suburbs of Southport with around 12,100 patients. We work from modern, extended premises and there are five GP Partners, one Salaried GP, two Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Practice Nurse, three HCAs, a Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Tech, and an experienced twenty-person management, administration and reception team.
We deliver quality patient care, achieve excellent QOF results and offer a number of enhanced services. We embrace new ways of working to improve efficiency for staff and patients alike. We have strong links with the local GP federation, CCG and PCN.
Main duties of the job
To work alongside our existing administration & secretary team, providing excellent output for QOF each year via chronic disease recalls. Your role will involve daily communications via various forms with patients and peers.

Essential/Desirable Knowledge and Experience:
* Secretarial/admin experience ideally within General Practice or NHS setting
* EMIS trained (desirable)
* Experience with working with the public
* Minimum Grade C in English GCSE
* Proven ability to work under pressure
* Advanced technology experience in the form of emails/Word/Excel/Publisher/IT troubleshooting (desirable)
Job Responsibilities
* Read Coding the information into the practice clinical system
* Using our electronic system to create and send patient referrals
* Typing patient referrals and other correspondence
* Filing and retrieving paperwork
* Scanning of letters and relevant correspondence into patients' notes
* Troubleshoot clinical database and assist with IT issues
* Report faults to software supplier and track progress
* Ensure security of data at all times
* Deal with incoming laboratory results and tasks generated from results
* Deal with patient emails and e-Consults via triage
* Processing SARs
* Registering new patients
* Actioning clinician-created tasks
* Liaising with patients via email/telephone
* Liaising with secondary and community care via email/telephone
* Opening and distributing post
* Any other administrative duties as required
Qualifications
* GCSE grade C or above in English
* EMIS trained
