Project Development:
1. Conducting site surveys to assess potential project requirements.
2. Preparing detailed and accurate project quotes.
3. Designing electrical systems, including schematics and technical drawings.
Technical Expertise:
1. Researching and sourcing components for system assembly.
2. Developing and troubleshooting automation systems, including fault-finding and diagnostics using advanced tools such as web-based diagnostics and industrial software.
3. Producing and interpreting technical documentation, including device manuals, schematics, and operating procedures.
Project Management and Quality Assurance:
1. Supporting project management tasks, such as creating Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and other project documentation.
2. Ensuring the quality and consistency of manufacturing and process applications through quality assurance principles.
3. Participating in presentations and customer meetings to communicate project goals and progress.
Installation and Support:
1. Overseeing the installation, commissioning, startup, shutdown, and ongoing maintenance of systems.
2. Configuring and supporting industrial network solutions across hierarchical levels of control system integration.
Mentoring and Development:
1. Assisting in the management and mentoring of apprentices, contributing to their growth and development within the company.
Customer Engagement:
1. Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
2. Participating in a night rota (initially one week in four) to provide remote troubleshooting and onsite support when necessary.
Innovation and Improvement:
1. Contributing to the ongoing development of engineering policies, standards, and procedures to ensure ECS remains at the forefront of the automation industry.

Qualifications and Experience:
We are seeking candidates with the following:
1. Educational Background: HNC/D or higher in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
2. Professional Training: - Apprenticeship trained as an Instrument Technician or Automation and Controls Engineer. - 18th Edition certification.
3. Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in automation, controls or related fields.
