The Role We are undergoing an exciting time in our evolution and now seek an ambitious and driven NOC Engineer to maintain and monitor internal, and client systems, troubleshoot problems, track issues and report incidents. This is a key technical role responsible for acting on alerts generated by monitoring systems. The post holder will ensure data protection standards are met. Responsibilities •Maintenance of key internal platforms, such as RMM, PSA, mail filtering, privileged access management, and backups •Responsible for maintaining set standards for monitoring, patching, and scripting •Undertakes monitoring of servers, firewalls, and other managed endpoints, with remediation when necessary •Patching of managed devices, either manually or through automation – Windows devices, Firewalls, Access Points etc •Monitoring and remediation of internal, and client-based backups •Write and schedule scripts for automated tasks when required •Identify areas for continuous improvement •Be able to attend Datacentres to implement, fix and troubleshoot systems when required •Be a subject matter expert on Xperience hosted infrastructure •Attend Change Advisory Board meetings when required •Implement systems and changes as directed by the Head of Technical Operations •Provide regular updates to the Head of Technical Operations, and Lead NOC Engineer on work in progress Person Specification Essential: •Service Delivery experience with a Managed Service Provider •Excellent working knowledge of Hyper-V, and other Windows Server roles •High understanding of data protection, and backup systems •Experience working with a variety of network technologies, protocols and hardware •Experience working with Server Clustering, including Hyperconverged infrastructure, SAN’s and S2D (Storage Spaces Direct) •Comfortable using Windows PowerShell •Valid Right to Work in the UK (We do not currently hold a visa sponsorship licence) Desirable: •VMware knowledge •Previous exposure to Veeam product suites such as Veeam Backup and Replication and Veeam Cloud Connect •Experience working with and troubleshooting of SMTP mail flow, and TLS •Application and understanding of SSL certificates and their uses •Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, and Azure AD •Experience using toolsets such as PRTG, patch management, and RMM tools Competencies required for role: Teamwork & Collaboration Contributes fully to the team effort and plays an integral part in the smooth running of teams without necessarily taking the lead.
