Turner Lodge is a state of the art, modern, spacious, purpose built new build offering 12 self-contained flats over 2 floors. The service is designed to allow individuals to live as independently as possible. The ground floor has 6 wheelchair accessible 1 bedroom flats with easy access to the outdoor spaces. There is a lift to the first floor where there are a further 6, 1-bedroom flats. All kitchen units can raise to suit the requirements of the service users. Turner Lodge also boasts large communal spaces that will be home to movie nights, game nights, crafting and so much more. Not only is it a wonderful home for the service users, staff facilities are made to high standard ensuring a warming, fun and happy environment to work in. The service will support service users with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism and mental health. Transport links are fantastic Transport links via train to London Victoria. Main bus route directly outside the service, 5 minutes into Margate town centre and 5 minutes into Westwood cross shopping centre. Within the local community… Easy access to all health services nearby. Blue wave local accessible gym with specialist hydrotherapy pool. Margate adult education college offering a range of accessible courses on literacy, numeracy, IT and art. Margate beach (and many other local beaches) is wheelchair accessible and offers beach wheelchairs to enable wheelchair user’s access to the sea. The Turner Contemporary Art Centre, accessible workshops are held throughout the year as well as events and projects that are open for community involvement. Dreamland is a very popular local attraction with its theme park rides, open air concerts throughout the summer and many other events. This year’s concert acts include Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs, Bastille, McFly, UB40 and Funk and Soul weekend. They also hold open air cinema nights, dance events and guest DJ nights.
