Role: Team Manager (Manor Centre & School Attendance)\n\nDepartment: Children, Families and Education Services\n\nConnect2Luton are excited to recruit a Team Manager on behalf of Luton Borough Council within their Children, Families and Education Services department.\n\nMain purpose of position:\n\nManaging and directing a Family Partnership Service Hub, staff team, resources and budgets, in order to identify, assess and provide services/intervention to support children, young people, families and carers. Improving school attendance is everybody's business and is a priority for the service and the Council.\n\nAs a Team Manager, you will be responsible to:\n\nEnsure all children and young people are enabled to meet their full potential to ensure positive outcomes including payment by results outcomes.\nEnsure effective risk management, decision making and preventative working to safeguard children and young people effectively in accordance with statutory requirements and policies.\nEstablish the appropriate assessment required and identify the level of need for support/services.\nTake delegated responsibility to ensure that performance targets are met. Ensure that the work of the teams and performance targets are monitored.\nRecruit, motivate, train and develop staff within Council procedures and implement employment procedures.\nManage and monitor delegated budgets.
Commission services for individuals and groups within the limits of devolved budgets ensuring the Council's Financial Procedures are followed.\nMonitor service delivery, and promote professional practice in accordance with the corporate priorities. \n\nSkills and Experience\n\nIn depth experience of work with children's school settings, young people and their families in children's services.\nDemonstrable experience of complex decision making in children's services.\nDemonstrable experience of managing, advising, coaching and supporting staff.\nAble to manage, motivate and develop a team working within children's services, effectively achieving high levels of performance from staff.\nAble to lead and chair multi-disciplinary meetings.\nAble to represent the service and department at a variety of internal/external meetings. \n\nDBS\n\nBecause of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for Disclosure and Barring Service checks to be undertaken.
