Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Location: Luton, UK
As a Quality Assurance Engineer for my client based in Luton, you will play a key role in ensuring that our final products adhere to the company's high-quality standards. As a detail-oriented professional, you will be responsible for developing and implementing inspection activities, identifying and resolving problems, and ensuring that quality outcomes are met consistently.
What you will do:
* Review enquiry documents and prepare summary QA/QC documentation for quotation submissions.
* Check and amend purchase texts to align with requirements.
* Prepare and maintain product specifications and process procedures, including monitoring approval records (Agility System).
* Control contract quality plans and monitor live QP’s for daily status updates.
* Manage CAPAs (Corrective and Preventative Actions) and ECRs (Engineering Change Requests).
* Perform certificate checks and sign-off against relevant standards and HT PO text.
* Control subcontract deliveries, monitoring progress, compliance, and due dates.
* Maintain and control weld and welder qualifications as appropriate.
* Ensure changes in specifications are reflected in accordance with the Engineering Manager’s requirements.
* Monitor and incorporate updates to QA compliance in accordance with relevant design codes (ASME, API, etc.).
* Provide quality support across departments such as Sales, Operations, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, and Test.
* Participate in or lead quality improvement projects.
* Participate in supplier and internal/external QA audit activities.
* Verify material certification against material standards.
* Approve suppliers' ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans) and procedures.
* Review, amend, and create HT procedures as required.
What you will need:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance Engineer role.
* Strong experience within Heavy Engineering and Pressure Vessel knowledge.
* Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings.
* Solid experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
* UK Passport holder (dual nationality permitted, but the first nationality must be British).
* Knowledge of PCN/SNT (non-destructive testing standards).
* Ability to produce ITPs, quality plans, and procedures.
* Full, clean UK driving licence
