Buyer - Doncaster - Up to £50k DOE plus company bonus
Hours: Mon-Fri; 8am till 5.00pm
Holidays: 33 days per year (20+8) this increases by 1 per year up to 25 plus stats
Extra day: You will always get an extra day for your birthday off too!
Pension: 5% employee contribution + 3% employer contribution

Buyer Overview:
Part of a supply chain team within a successful and ever-expanding local business, you will play a pivotal role in driving their purchasing strategy. This is a diverse and hands-on role that will require a proactive approach to achieving business goals while fostering strong supplier relationships and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
Duties of the Buyer include:
1. Sourcing and resourcing of new and existing products and services
2. Oversee the tender process, including sourcing, evaluating and negotiating
3. Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager to resolve any supply chain issues and maintain availability
4. Continuously evaluate and improve procurement practices, including identifying cost saving opportunities and process enhancements
5. Maintaining/gaining required product accreditations and certifications
6. Implement sustainable and socially responsible strategic sourcing practices, including supporting local suppliers and supporting ethical sourcing
7. Manage supplier relationships, including regular communication, performance evaluation and issue resolution
8. Keep updated re regulatory requirements and ensure compliance to applicable laws and regulations
9. Own the profitability and growth of your categories, collaborating with sales and operations to understand their requirements and develop procurement plans
Qualifications:
As well as proven purchasing experience, enthusiasm, drive and a can-do attitude, the successful Buyer will have:
1. Strong negotiation skills with a focus on cost optimisation and budgeting
2. Expertise in supplier and product compliance management
3. The ability to foster supplier relationships and drive performance improvements
4. Understanding of Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) practices
5. Excellent IT literacy (Sage experience desirable)
