This position is based in our London Stratford Office. This is a permanent opportunity.
Brief Description
Lead and direct the construction delivery team in the delivery of projects to standards, quality and within budget.
About the role (External)
1. Lead and direct the Construction works delivery team to achieve business and functional objectives and meet key performance measures.
2. Manage development of individuals and the engagement of the team.
3. Manage the arrangements for staff safety and competence.
4. Manage H.R issues within the delivery department and Trade Union Meetings.
5. Identify and implement safety, asset performance, reliability, productivity and efficiency improvement initiatives.
6. Liaise with other departments to develop a cost effective and robust annual plan.
7. Manage the prioritisation of rosters, work and delivery to plan.
8. Check that safety, assurance, compliance, performance and business processes are followed.
9. Identify and submit non compliances for approval and take appropriate action where required.
10. Manage the process to handover assets being renewed, installed, or modified by the delivery team.
11. Check and authorise quarterly work plans and resource levels.
12. Produce, review, amend, approve and submit to project teams the DWWP process for all project work.
13. Undertake investigations and report on accidents/incidents.
14. Identify training needs in safety and management areas for the personnel reporting to the post holder, and contribute to their personal development.
15. Produce periodic delivery review reports for the Programme Manager.
16. Undertake an agreed programme of safety tours, staff surveillance, work quality and asset condition checks.
17. Assist the Project Managers in preparing project budgets and detailed estimates.
Essential
1. Relevant technical competence.
2. Experience in maintenance / construction management, processes and techniques.
3. Knowledge of safety and compliance management processes.
4. Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and procedures.
5. 10 years experience of operational railway environment.
6. Knowledge of other functional disciplines.
7. Local Accident & Incident Investigation.
8. Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills.
9. Yellow Book Trained.
10. Commercial Awareness.
Desirable
1. Incorporated Engineer.
2. Membership of professional body.
3. NEBOSH Certificate.
