The role is in the Systems Improvement & Support Team (SIS) predominantly focussed on developing automated data visualisation reporting products using tools including Qlik sense and Power BI.
The role offers a chance for staff meeting the minimum technical skills required to move into a role where they can build on these skills and utilise them daily. Full training will be provided, and membership of a skilled technical team will enable effective consolidation.
The role is wide ranging not only in the practical elements of developing products but also focussing on best practice when managing stakeholder relationships with, for example, data suppliers and system users such as other Finance teams, Service Delivery and HR colleagues and External Groups.
Working as part of a team of Technical Developers the successful candidate will:
* Understand user requirements and build products that deliver against these;
* Be creative in exploring solutions that present data with impact and utilise the functionality of the tools available;
* Adhere to our processes and protocols for product development and testing and data security and governance;
* Continuously developing and maintaining high quality and expert skills in Qlik Sense, Power BI and associated systems i.e., Oracle systems such as Discoverer, Hyperion and Single Operating Platform (SOP).
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
* Championing Agile development of new data visualisation applications to increase efficiency of processes when replacing existing products or systems;
* Being proactive in the Sprint & Development Phase, with full involvement in Sprint Planning, Daily Stand Ups, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives in conjunction with Product Managers and internal/external suppliers;
* To assist the User Experience team, supporting the training of users of delivered products/systems and ensure that configuration management standards are applied;
* Ensuring clear and timely communication with all key stakeholders throughout;
* The production of supporting documentation for products and data visualisation apps e.g. Product Summary, End-User Guidance;
* May be responsible for upskilling of EO developers;
* Responsible for task and workflow management in Confluence/Jira.
Hybrid working
This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home.
This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need, but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account.
This role can only be delivered from the UK.
