About the Engineering Manager job
This is a hands-on role that may be a step up opportunity for the right experienced individual. Reporting into the Directors, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of engineering, mechanical, and electrical activities on site.
Key tasks
1. Planned preventative maintenance.
2. Partaking in weekly KPI management meetings.
3. Delegating tasks to and managing the engineering team of 3-4 people.
4. Breakdown repair.
5. Ensuring there are safe systems of work for your team.
6. Management of new project implementation and design alongside the owners.
About You
You might be an Engineering Supervisor or a Multiskilled Engineer looking to take the next step up, but you will have an FMCG background, preferably in food production.
Qualifications include:
1. Qualified to Level 5 NVQ, HND or Foundation Degree, as a minimum, in electrical or mechanical engineering.
2. Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH, together with food safety and hygiene knowledge.
3. Good experience of electrics - 3 phase distribution, switching and motors, low voltage systems, including fault finding.
4. Ideally good working knowledge of pneumatics, boilers & steam systems, pumps and pumping systems.
5. Knowledge and experience of refrigeration / HVAC and lean manufacturing techniques will be a massive bonus!

The Engineering Manager job is based in Plymouth and offers a salary of up to £60,000 depending on experience. This is essentially a Monday to Friday job with flexible hours to suit, but there is a rota for evenings and Sundays since this is a 24/7 operation.
