These are fixed term posts for 12 months and are a full-time trust grade post aimed at IMT1-2 level to provide resident doctor cover for the inpatient Oncology ward and Oncology daycase unit with potential for experience in outpatient services within the Exeter Oncology Centre. This post will allow the successful candidate to develop experience in acute oncology and palliative care. They will be supported by the middle grade and consultant team. In-patient oncology service provision takes place on Yeo ward a 23 bedded unit taking direct admissions of acutely unwell oncology patients from home, as well as patients admitted electively for treatment. Our daycase unit is located on Cherrybrook where patients receive systemic anti-cancer treatment and Yarty Day Case which provides initial assessment from our Acute Oncology team. This post will be mainly based on the inpatient ward. Successful candidates will not be expected to prescribe systemic anti-cancer treatment. The successful candidates must have full registration with the General Medical Council.
