Teaching Assistant Job Description:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the classroom teacher and helping students achieve their academic and personal goals. You will assist with lesson delivery, provide one-on-one or small group support, and help students with additional needs to engage with the curriculum.
Teaching AssistantKey Responsibilities:
* Support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons.
* Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning and help them achieve their targets.
* Provide support for students with special educational needs (SEN) or other individual needs.
* Help with the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
* Assist with the monitoring and tracking of student progress.
* Create a positive and safe learning environment for students.
* Help with classroom management and ensure students are engaged and focused.
* Support students during lunch breaks, playtimes, and other activities as required.
Person Specification:
The Teaching Assistant ideal candidate will:
* Have a passion for working with children and helping them succeed.
* Be patient, adaptable, and proactive in supporting students.
* Have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
* Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or have experience working in a school setting.
* Have a DBS on the update service or willing to do one.
* Experience in supporting students with SEN would be an advantage, but not essential.
* Be enthusiastic and motivated to contribute to the school community.
