Role: Planning Engineer – Electronic Manufacturing
We are looking for a planning engineer with a background in electronic manufacturing and process engineering to join our production planning team.
Our planning department is a central function of our manufacturing operation. The team interfaces directly with customers to organise, plan, and monitor production schedules. They also interface with internal departments to ensure manufacturing is completed to defined standards, quality conditions, and within planned timeframes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Enacting customer purchase orders/contract review process for NPI and production-type orders.
2. System configuration, handling and implementing concessions, and organising digital data.
3. Working with multi-level BOMs, digital data, drawing sets, and part numbers.
4. Creating and planning work orders with consideration for the entire build process and granular-level information.
5. Organising production schedules for key departments.
6. Compiling operational notes for process control.
7. Producing concise written production guides/works instructions for operators.
8. Monitoring and supporting NPI orders, closing feedback loops, and monitoring engineering updates.
9. Confirming order acknowledgments and supporting customers and account managers with RFI’s and progress.
10. Supporting production engineers with queries and questions.
Skills Required:
1. Understanding of electronic manufacturing for PCB technology.
2. Attention to detail, a finisher.
3. Organised and self-disciplined.
4. Experienced PC|MS user.
5. ERP & MRP user.
6. Multi-level Bills of materials.
7. Comprehension of mechanical drawings.
8. Works order creation and date planning against capacity loading.
9. Able to communicate with staff, customers, and suppliers.
Advantageous Skills:
1. Use of IPC610 and/or AS9100 standards.
2. Background in electronics and/or a quality-related function.
3. Process engineering.
Core Hours:
Mon-Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm
Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm
Full-time, potential ad-hoc hybrid after satisfactory phase in.
