About the Role
As a Credit Controller, you'll be responsible for overseeing credit control processes across our dealerships. Collaborating closely with the sales teams and accountants, you'll ensure that credit lines are effectively managed, risks are controlled, and all debts are collected within agreed terms. This role is vital to supporting the smooth financial operation of the business.
Responsibilities
Credit Management:
Set and review credit lines for customers in parts and services in line with company policy.
Evaluate credit applications, conducting appropriate credit checks and reviewing trade references.
Recommend credit limits based on customer risk assessment and maintain up-to-date debtor master records.
Debt Collection:
Monitor and chase outstanding debts using BI Reports.
Send regular account statements and follow up on overdue invoices with customers.
Resolve customer queries in collaboration with the sales team.
Reporting:
Provide bi-monthly and monthly reports on outstanding debtors, including aged debt analysis and commentary on potential risks.
Reconcile aged debtor reports with trial balances and upload accurate data for management review.
Month-End Activities:
Calculate bad debt provisions based on aged debtors.
Support the Assistant Accountants in processing payments as needed.
Team Collaboration:
Work with other credit controllers to maintain consistency and drive efficiencies in processes.
Assist with ad hoc projects and reporting requests from dealership accountants.
What You Will Need
Proven experience in credit control, preferably within a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
Experience using BI Reports or similar systems is advantageous.
