Main duties of the job You must have relevant years of experience working in an admin and clerical role and experience of dealing with the general public and members of staff. This is a 24 hour service working over 7 days covering a variety of shifts i.e. nights, long days, weekends, including bank holidays. It is expected the post holder will be aware of this and will work the range of shifts on a rota agreed 6 weeks in advance (as a minimum). Booking in of patients attending Accident & Emergency onto the hospital computer system. Liaising with ambulance staff and booking in patients on arrival. Receive and deal with telephone enquiries as required. Cancel or change appointments according to clinic rules and procedures. Reception duties on out-patient clinics, ensuring all computer details are maintained correctly on the Symphony/Camis system and that all relevant details are entered/updated correctly.
