The medical team consists of 11 registrars, 7 SHO level doctors, 1-2 Foundation year doctor(s) and 2 Advance Clinical Practitioners (ACP). There are 2 dedicated neurosurgical wards at the RSCH. Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will cover both elective and emergency adult neurosurgery and spinal conditions working on wards, theatres, ICU/HDU, and emergency department. This is an excellent opportunity for junior doctors who aspire to become neurosurgeons, interventional neuro-radiologists, neurologists, neuro-oncologists, or neuropathologists. All our posts are well supported and closely supervised by consultants, and the successful post holders will be assigned an Educational and Clinical supervisor and will have regular career progress meetings. The trust strongly supports teaching and training, and the post holders will be encouraged to attend the MRCS exam preparation sessions organized by the Core Surgical training programme. Previous post holders have progressed onto Registrar posts within the department or in other units.
