Through our award-winning in-house training we’re proud to be continually developing newcomers to the electrical industry. We are looking for an Invigilator to ensure that examinations are conducted according to the current JCQ and awarding body instructions for conducting examinations. The invigilator is the person in the examination room responsible for conducting a particular examination session in the presence of the candidates. All exams are held at our Birmingham training centre based in Nechells. Responsibilities • To assist with setting up examination rooms by laying out stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with the outlined procedures • To assist the candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in examination rooms • To ensure that candidates do not talk once inside the examination room • To invigilate during examinations, handle queries and manage examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures • To monitor attendance during examinations • To record details of early leavers and collect their scripts • To escort candidates from the examination venue during the examinations as required, and supervise candidates whilst outside the examination venue • To collate and collect scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with strict procedures • To supervise candidates leaving examination venues, ensuring that candidates do not remove equipment or stationery from the venue without authorisation and ensuring that candidates leave venues in an orderly and quiet manner • To check the examination papers, stationery and equipment prior to the start of the examinations • To prepare the seating plans Requirements • Experience of working or studying in a further education environment Skills: • Good numeracy skills • Good written and verbal communication skills • Good IT skills • Good accuracy and attention to detail Competencies: • Flexible approach to working • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Clarkson Evans is an equal opportunities employer and we’re proud of our fair and inclusive recruitment process.
