A leading deep-tech company is looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer (Electronics) to drive the development of next-gen sensing and imaging technologies. This is a hands-on role, designing and optimizing cutting-edge hardware solutions for medical and real-time applications.
You’ll be part of a high-performance R&D team, working within an agile SCRUM environment, developing AI-driven, FPGA-accelerated, and sensing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead electronic hardware design – from concept through to production, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
2. Develop high-performance embedded systems, integrating microprocessors, microcontrollers, and high-speed communication interfaces.
3. Optimize FPGA and AI-driven GPU architectures for real-time signal processing.
4. Engineer low-power, high-efficiency power supply systems for mobile and industrial applications.
5. Design for EMC compliance, ensuring manufacturing and test readiness (DFM & DFT best practices).
6. Take a hands-on approach to hardware prototyping, debugging, and verification, performing risk assessments (DFMEA).
7. Work closely with firmware and software engineers to define test requirements and system-level integration.
8. Collaborate with stakeholders and customers, refining product specifications and engaging in pilot testing.
9. Push the boundaries of electromagnetic tomography and super-sensing technologies, enhancing sensor performance and AI-driven analytics.
10. Contribute to agile R&D innovation, working within a SCRUM framework, with the potential to grow into a SCRUM Master role.
Qualifications
1. Extensive hands-on experience in electronics design, from PCB layout to full product development.
2. Strong understanding of microprocessor and microcontroller-based systems, including communication interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Profibus).
3. Expertise in high-speed digital design, integrating memory subsystems (DDR, NAND, eMMC).
4. Proven track record of FPGA development and AI-enabled GPUs for real-time applications.
5. Deep knowledge of EMC principles, compliance testing, and regulatory standards.
6. Experience in power supply design for low-power, mobile, and high-performance environments.
7. Familiarity with hardware risk assessment and mitigation techniques (DFMEA).
8. Comfortable working in a SCRUM-driven R&D environment, collaborating across disciplines.
What’s in It for You?
1. 25 days annual leave (+ bank holidays, with service-based increments).
2. Flexible working options – hybrid/remote days available.
3. Modern R&D workspace with free on-site parking.
4. Cycle to Work Scheme.
5. Performance-based share options.
6. Team-building initiatives – company-sponsored activities and events.
