The Launceston Community Nursing Service is part of Primary Health North which has a focus on community service provision within Northern Tasmania.
Are you an experienced and compassionate nursing leader looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the community? Launceston Community Nursing Service is seeking a dynamic Nurse Unit Manager to lead a dedicated team in providing exceptional care to clients in their homes and clinic settings.
About Us: Launceston Community Nursing Service serves a diverse range of clients, with approximately 400 active referrals per month in the Launceston region. Our service works closely with GPs and primary care providers to ensure we deliver client-centred care that achieves positive outcomes. As part of our team, you’ll oversee a group of Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and Administrative Staff, working together to provide holistic and tailored care to our clients.
Key responsibilities:
* Clinical Leadership: Guide and support your multidisciplinary team, ensuring that evidence-based care is implemented across all client interactions.
* Staff Development: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and the ongoing professional development of staff, working alongside the Clinical Nurse Educator and Consultant to support training and education.
* Resource & Financial Management: Manage the team’s budget, ensuring effective resource allocation, and monitor expenditure to meet the needs of the service while ensuring financial sustainability.
* Collaboration: Foster a collaborative working environment with GPs, primary care providers, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, client-centred care.
* Operational Management: Lead the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring high standards of care are maintained in both home and clinic settings, with a focus on continuous improvement and optimal outcomes for clients.
* Quality and Compliance: Ensure the service adheres to all regulatory requirements and implements best practices in care delivery.
You will need:
* To be a Registered Nurse with proven leadership experience in clinical and operational settings.
* To have strong knowledge of evidence-based practice and a commitment to applying it in everyday care.
* To possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
* To be passionate about providing high-quality, community-based care and driving continuous improvements in patient outcomes.
Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 30 June 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $130,203 to $136,295 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Eligibility:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
