Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and professional Personal Care Assistant to support a female client living with dementia. Our client is warm-hearted with a good sense of humour, very social, and enjoys engaging in conversations, making meaningful connections, and staying involved in her own care. The ideal candidate will be someone who truly values building relationships with a person centred approach and providing care with empathy and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support with daily tasks around the home such as light housework and laundry.
* Prepare healthy meals based on client preferences and dietary needs.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor overall health.
* Provide companionship and engage in social activities to ensure emotional well-being.
* Help the client remain involved in decisions about her care and day-to-day activities.
Candidate Requirements:
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
* Patient, kind, and reliable with a positive attitude toward providing care.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Comfortable with light cooking, cleaning, and assisting with personal care.
* Ability to administer medication and follow care plans accurately.
Hours
Monday to Thursday 09:00am -11:00am, 13:00-14:30pm and 17:00-18:00pm
Friday 09:00-11:00am and 13:00-14:30pm
This rota will be 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, totaling 25 hours a week.
We are looking for a kind and compassionate individual who can build strong relationships, assisting with personal care needs when required, light housework and cooking meals. Administering medication and companionship.
Qualifications
Full training will be provided. No previous care experience necessary. We are looking for people from across the community who share in our values to provide compassionate care and get to know our clients as you would your own family
