You will be part of frontline operation at our STC at CANTERBURY and the business simply cannot operate without you. Every day is different, you will be working in all conditions carrying out and a range of tasks, to ensure the essential functions of a water treatment works operate to maintain supply to our customers an protect the environment.
Joining us could prepare you well for future roles across the business. Team members have gone on to achieve roles in management to Field Performance Manager level, and indirect pathways to Process Science roles – these are the technical experts in the process operation arena. You may also gain indirect knowledge in mechanical and electrical specialisms and this could prove to be a future field of study with the skills you will gain. Southern Water can support this ambition with upskilling apprenticeships and other training.
Although work is generated to you on a weekly basis, you will be managing your own time, giving you the freedom and flexibility to design your own working week, you will learn how to be organised and proactive.
You will undertake as part of the role:
• Compliance testing.
• Chemical deliveries.
• Monitoring, collating and reporting of data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Fault finding and problem-solving skills are essential to respond to breakdowns.
• Site Hygiene in line with our regulatory obligations.
You will be:
• Comfortable working outdoors, potentially in all weather conditions.
• Part of a team who delivers excellent performance by understanding how you affect the overall mission of Southern Water.
• Adaptable, flexible, patient, reliable and self-motivated.
• Good with time management
• Confident to work effectively and efficiently on your own and as part of a team.
• Keen to learn and operate complex processes with high quality controls.
Qualifications
• GCSEs grade 3 including Maths, English and Science
• Valid UK Drivers Licence
