Cable Assembler Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Cable Assembler to join our client in the Stoke/Cheshire area. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in cable assembly, wiring harness/loom fabrication, box/panel assembly, over-moulding, and interpreting technical drawings. This role requires a high level of precision and attention to detail to ensure the production of high-quality components that meet our strict standards. Cable Assembler Key Responsibilities: Cable Assembly: Perform complex cable assembly tasks, including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and terminating wires and cables according to specifications. Wiring Harness/Loom Fabrication: Build and assemble wiring harnesses/looms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications. Box/Panel Assembly: Assemble electrical boxes and panels, incorporating cables, connectors, switches, and other components as per design requirements. Over-Moulding: Operate over-moulding equipment to encapsulate cables and connectors, ensuring durable and reliable finished products. Technical Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate and efficient production. Quality Control: Inspect and test assembled products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirements. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues during the assembly process, including diagnosing and correcting wiring and connection problems. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all company safety protocols and industry standards, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the production team to suggest and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including assembly logs, test results, and quality checks. Cable Assembler Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in cable assembly, wiring harness/loom fabrication, box/panel assembly, and over-moulding. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical principles, materials, and tools used in cable and harness assembly. Skills: Proficient in soldering, crimping, wire stripping, and terminating. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments. Drawings and Schematics: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality, accurate assemblies. Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues during the assembly process. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform tasks that require manual dexterity, such as handling small components and operating machinery. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or equivalent in cable and harness assembly (preferred but not required). Experience in Aerospace/Automotive/Defence: Prior experience working in industries with high reliability standards is a plus. Work Environment: This role involves working in a production environment that may require standing and sitting for extended periods.
