Swayne & Partners are a well-established, group of three small animal veterinary practices with one larger feeder hospital practice based in and around Suffolk. The four practices work hand in hand providing exceptional care to its clients and patients, with day surgeries at each branch and in house OOH and emergency care via the hospital branch in Bury St Edmunds. We’re looking for a passionate Graduate Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly practice in Bury St Edmunds.

About the Role:
In this role, in your first few months with us, we operate a rotating theatre, inpatient and consulting rota so you get to experience every area of the practice. We have multiple certificate holders in both our vet and nursing teams, and actively encourage further CPD. We have a second on call rota of experienced vets so that back up is always available OOH if needed. We have a well planned diary with 15-minute consults, time in the diary for admin/phone calls, dedicated theatre days and a variety of shifts to ensure smooth 24/7 cover, without anyone working over their planned hours. Our dedicated night team mean that you can hand your patients over as your shift ends, knowing that they'll be in safe hands until you are back in the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct 15-minute consultations with clients to assess their pets' health and provide diagnosis and treatment.
* Advise clients on preventative care and long-term health management for their pets.
* Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and support staff to provide outstanding care.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
* Take part in group-wide initiatives, including CPD training and best practice sharing.
* Work closely with the Clinical Director to ensure the practice consistently upholds the highest standards of care.
* Develop and nurture relationships with clients, providing them with the information and support they need.
* Perform a range of surgical procedures, from routine to emergency surgeries (based on your skillset and experience).
* Shadow, learn and rotate between areas for your ongoing development.
