We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Communications Manager with a particular interest in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to join our welcoming and supportive team.
Who are we?
The NIHR funds, enables and delivers world-leading health and social care research that improves people's health and wellbeing and promotes economic growth. We are also a major funder of applied health research in low- and middle-income countries.
Working in a matrix way, you will work with the Deputy Head of Research Inclusion and across communications teams within the NIHR to provide communication expertise, advice, and delivery for research inclusion activities. Some key responsibilities are:
* Lead the organisation, planning, development, and delivery of NIHR Research Inclusion communications and events activities.
* Support NIHR communications working groups to help them deliver the corporate communication strategy, working with colleagues in other coordinating centres.
* Measure outcomes of communication and events activities, carrying out detailed analyses and help assess complex situations.
* Have responsibility for monitoring and maintaining records and reports to meet the NIHR Research Inclusion and Department of Health and Social Care requirements.
Who are we looking for?
Alongside previous work experience in a similar communications role, we are looking for a highly driven, self-motivated individual. You will be confident managing your own workload and able to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. Other key skills are:
* Proven experience of inclusive communication methods and approaches.
* Understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and other dimensions related to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
* Strong digital communication skills including web and social media.
* Able to effectively build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
* Have a creative approach and use your expertise to help shape and advise on best practice.
* Be able to prioritise your own workload and be adaptive to business needs.
