A day in the life of…
As Kitchen Porter, you will be a crucial part of the kitchen team, delivering excellent service to guests each day. Teamwork is everything! You will work closely with your team mates to ensure that together each service is smooth and efficient. You are engaged, move with purpose, and serve with enthusiasm, understand performance indicators and work hard to positively influence these whilst on shift.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen and its surrounding areas
* Cleaning and sanitising all kitchen equipment and utensils
* Disposing of waste and rubbish in a safe and hygienic manner
* Ensuring all deliveries are received and stored correctly
* Assisting the chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks
* Operating and maintaining dishwashing machines, and alerting any faults to your line manager and hotel maintenance team.
* Ensuring that the kitchen is compliant with health and safety regulations
* Adhering to the hotel's policies and procedures at all times
What do we need from you?
To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about providing an exceptional guest experience and living through our brand standards. Whilst it's not required, any previous experience as a Kitchen Porter would be beneficial.
We are also looking for you to have:
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the kitchen
* Flexibility to work weekends and evenings
