About the Role:
Join us as a Payroll Supervisor where you will play a crucial role in our payroll team, responsible for processing end-to-end payrolls and ensuring accuracy and efficiency at every step. This role requires an individual with excellent attention to detail, confident communication skills and ability to multitask.
The Supervisor is responsible for the production of high standards of departmental work, the role is split equally between producing high quality clients' files and managing junior members of the team. This means completing their own workload, allocating and reviewing the work of team members and being a strong role model for the vision, mission and values of the organisation. The role requires a quality focused individual who is organised and deadline driven.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Supervisor your responsibilities will include:
* Provide an excellent level of service to a small portfolio of Clients which meets and exceeds their expectations.
* Manage an allocated Client portfolio in a manner which ensures that the required standards of compliance and service are achieved and sustained at all levels.
* Support the Director to ensure day-to-day activities are completed within the timeframes and requirements set.
* Ensure planning processes meet client needs and statutory deadlines.
* Review team files to ensure all standards, quality and compliance requirements are met and issues identified.
* Give feedback on the quality and standard of work produced by junior team members and highlight areas for development.
* Manage the entire payroll process from start to finish, including RTI filing, pension uploads, and generating reports for payments and third-party entities.
* Maintain meticulous records and a robust document control system, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a full audit trail of input.
* Stay up to date with company policies and tax legislation impacting payroll, always ensuring adherence and compliance.
* Prepare month-end journals and reports as needed for posting and audit purposes, contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.
* Prepare and submit CIS submissions.
* Training and overseeing junior members of the payroll team.
Key Requirements:
* Experience in client facing payroll, preferably within a practice environment.
* Hold CIPP qualification.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
* Excellent attention to detail, but the ability to work efficiently to complete tasks within a time efficient manner.
Additional Requirements:
* Knowledge of HMRC legislation and Pension Auto Enrolment, coupled with the ability to work effectively with multiple clients and prioritise workload.
* Strong computer literacy and numerical skills, with experience using payroll software – familiarity with BrightPay would be desirable, although training will be given.
