HMP Fosse Way is seeking a proactive and adaptable individual to join our team as a Case Administrator. In this dynamic and fast-paced role, you will play a key part in processing offender records and ensuring the secure and confidential handling of all documentation in line with legal frameworks and operating procedures.
Opened in mid-2023, Fosse Way is one of the first prisons to focus on cutting-edge rehabilitation practices. With a mission to reduce re-offending rates, you'll be working within a secure, safe, and forward-thinking environment that supports around 1,700 prisoners.
Your responsibilities will include processing records for offenders, including all new arrivals, while maintaining compliance with legal frameworks and security protocols. You will be responsible for safeguarding confidentiality in all written and oral communications, ensuring that sensitive information is treated with the utmost care and discretion. You will manage all documentation related to offenders residing at HMP Fosse Way, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records at all times. Additionally, you will use your excellent computer-based skills to efficiently handle documentation in a fast-paced office environment.
A crucial part of this role is effectively communicating with external agencies such as the Police (IOM), Probation, Magistrates, Crown Courts, and other Prisons. You will ensure that offenders have all the necessary documentation upon arrival and maintain clear communication with these stakeholders.
You will be required to complete mandatory training to carry out case administration duties in line with specific requirements. We are looking for someone who demonstrates a positive attitude towards collaboration, works well under pressure, and maintains flexibility in a dynamic work environment. The ability to quickly adapt and stay motivated is essential for this role, as the OMU environment is fast-paced and ever-changing.
In terms of structure, you will report directly to the OMU Hub Managers, who will provide daily oversight and managerial responsibility. The OMU Hub Manager reports to the Head of Offender Management Services, who oversees the broader Reducing Reoffending agenda.
You Will Need:
* A strong administrative background, preferably in accounting or a process/target-driven environment.
* Empathy and the ability to understand offenders' backgrounds.
* Strong communication skills – able to speak clearly with offenders and professionals alike.
* Experience in working with diverse groups and helping them change behaviour.
* Commitment to reducing re-offending and understanding the challenges offenders face.
* Experience in case management, risk assessment, and criminal justice procedures is desirable.
