The Role
The Products & Operations team, part of the Actuarial Operations and Support team, sits within the Actuarial Modelling and Valuations Centre of Excellence within Finance.
We own the calculations bases and associated parameters that underpin the illustrations and servicing calculations used by M&G policy admin systems. We provide actuarial support to the wider business in relation to the operation of these products.
What will you be doing?
As a Finance Analyst Apprentice your daily duties will include:
1. Developing knowledge of the M&G products and policy admin systems
2. Supporting the team in the calculation of a variety of illustrations and servicing parameters and ensuring a successful upload of these onto the admin systems
3. Supporting investigations into Actuarial calculation related queries raised by other Finance areas and/or the wider business
4. Supporting the team in the provision of advice and support on technical actuarial calculations for a variety of products and systems
5. Assisting with maintenance of documented calculation bases for preparing illustrations and administration system calculations for M&G's life, pension and investment products.
6. Helping the team manage priorities effectively through escalation and discussion of deliverable timelines, seeking agreement on priorities with key stakeholders
7. Attending meetings and supporting implementation of regulatory projects
8. Helping the team in the production of management information such as the latest view on PruFund prices and answering queries on outputs such as explaining market movements

Minimum Requirements
1. Available to start the apprenticeship programme in September 2025
2. You must not be enrolled in another further education programme at the beginning of the programme
3. Be a UK citizen or have proof of your right to work in the UK
4. Living in Scotland
5. Pass in Five National 5s including English and Maths
6. Minimum of Grade C in Two Highers or equivalent
Training Provided
As a Finance Analyst Apprentice with M&G, you will undertake the Providing Financial Advice Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face-to-face inductions and masterclasses.
Future Prospects
This is a fixed-term contract for 18 - 23 months upon which the business may decide to retain, subject to the Apprentice performance, headcount, and available funding. If recruited into a permanent role, the individual will follow the career progression applicable to the specific role/department.
Salary
£22,900 per annum plus benefits.
