This is an excellent opportunity for a driven candidate to join us as a Lead Engineer working across a small number of cross-disciplinary feature teams, providing engineering leadership that spans the full stack in support of our continued journey onto Public Cloud (Azure/GCP).
You'll be passionate about designing and delivering scalable applications and have tangible views on how to best exploit public cloud capabilities. This role is pivotal in transforming legacy systems into cloud-native distributed applications.

What you’ll do
* Write modular, well-tested web applications that remain easy to maintain as the codebase and business scale.
* Ensure software is built in a way that exploits existing frameworks, patterns, and practices across the wider engineering community.
* Understand and apply industry best practices, foster knowledge sharing, and implement solutions for complex business problems.
* Focus on delivering business value through sound engineering principles.
* Solve technical problems, work with solution architects on architectural designs.
* Guide engineers in modernising monolith applications, addressing concerns like scalability, security, reliability, and performance as we transition to cloud-native applications.
What you’ll need
* Full stack engineering expertise.
* Strong experience with Java and microservice frameworks such as Spring Boot.
* Experience with micro-front end, microservice API design, and event-driven architecture.
* Proficiency with RESTful APIs and web services.
* Understanding of source code repositories and change management tools like Git.
* Experience with Docker or other containerisation technologies.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
* Knowledge of agile practices and test automation (Unit/Integration/E2E testing – Jest, Testing Library, Cucumber, Cypress).
* Familiarity with build tools like npm and webpack is advantageous.
