We have an exciting opportunity for Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team. The New Urgent and Emergency Care Centre in Scarborough will be opening its doors in November 2024 and this is your opportunity to work in a multimillion state of the art emergency centre.
Main duties of the job
As a registered nurse the post holder is personally accountable for their practice, and must adhere to the NMC standards expected of them.
* Be an effective role model for staff and lead the team
* Maintain own professional development through ongoing education and development, ensuring that CPD requirements and clinical supervision are met together with all mandatory training
* Adhere to the Trust policy on Scope of Professional Practice, developing own sphere of practice with guidance from Department Manager.
* Adhere to the sickness reporting policy
* Support the team in meeting the Emergency Care Standards.

Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential
* Registered Nurse, Registered with the NMC
* Band 6 Emergency Department experience for 18 months minimum
* Willing to undergo training as necessary to undertake role
* Evidence of Continued professional development
* Clinical competence in: -IV drug administration -Venepuncture & Cannulation
Desirable
* Adult Nursing Degree
* Leadership course
* Advanced Trauma Nursing Course
* Advanced Life Support
* CBRN training
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
* Awareness of current NHS issues & appreciation of the issues surrounding governance & quality initiatives
* Leadership and management experience
* Proven and current experience in the Emergency Medicine setting
* Experience of working with an electronic patient record and other basic IT systems.
* Experience in Auditing
* Sound knowledge of the principles & practice of emergency care
