Clinical Specialist Radiographer – CT & General

Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shift times: 7.5 hour shifts between 08:00 and 20:00. Overnight & weekend on-call also mandatory.

We’re looking for a Specialist Radiographer to join our CT and Plain Film team at The Wellington Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC.

Our imaging services cover a wide range of medical needs. Additionally, we offer a new, advanced CT scanner designed specifically for critical clinical cases where time and accuracy are crucial.
Our top-of-the-line CT scanners are capable of delivering exceptional image quality with reduced scanning times and minimal radiation doses. With CT scans, we can aid in the diagnosis of inflammation, diseases, and cancer, as well as monitor various health conditions such as those affecting the brain, internal organs, soft tissues, joints, and bones. Our priority is ensuring patient safety, and our commitment to using low radiation doses guarantees the utmost safety during our scanning procedures.
We have a state-of-the-art Interventional Radiology Suite and a fully DR General/Fluoroscopy rooms.
We cover a wide range of complex surgical procedures to include use of navigational surgery using a specialised O-Arm.
As a Specialist Radiographer, you’ll provide a high level of customer-focussed to our patients and service users through high quality diagnostic radiography
Duties & responsibilities:
1. Produce high quality images for both CT & General lists
2. Regular rotation throughout CT, General, IR and Theatres
3. Work closely with the Radiologists and Consultants in setting up policies and protocols for all imaging and patient pathways
4. Identify improvements on an ongoing basis and oversee the implementation of such improvements as agreed with the line manager
5. Assist the day to day running of the imaging service
6. Assist with patient bookings and administrative duties where necessary, ensuring verified radiologist reports are delivered in a timely manner
7. Assist with staff orientation and training

What you’ll bring:
8. HCPC registration
9. Extensive CT experience gained post-graduation, ideally in the UK
10. High level of understanding with regards to clinical governance and protocols relating to CT and Plain Film scanning
11. Theatre experience essential
12. Experience in IR desirable
13. Experience in Cardiac CT desirable
14. Experience using GE, Siemens and/or Canon equipment desirable
