About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Humanities Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school team in Nuneaton. This is a full-time, permanent position, commencing in January 2025. The successful candidate will be passionate about inspiring young minds and delivering engaging lessons across a range of Humanities subjects, including History, Geography, Religious Studies, and Citizenship.
You will be joining a supportive and well-established department that strives to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment for all students. We are looking for a teacher who is committed to high academic standards, fostering student engagement, and making a positive impact on the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality lessons in Humanities subjects (History, Geography, Religious Studies, Citizenship) to secondary school students.
Plan, prepare, and assess lessons that are engaging, challenging, and tailored to individual learning needs.
Support students' academic progress, providing guidance and feedback to help them achieve their full potential.
Contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider life of the school.
Foster a positive classroom environment with clear expectations and mutual respect.
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Humanities department to continually improve teaching practices.
Participate in professional development opportunities and engage with the school’s performance management process.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
A strong academic background in Humanities (History, Geography, Religious Studies, or a related subject).
A passion for teaching and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Desirable:
Experience of teaching at secondary school level (KS3 & KS4).
Experience or willingness to teach GCSE or A-Level (depending on the needs of the school).
Familiarity with curriculum developments and exam board specifications.
