An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NHS England South East Region as part of the Commissioning Finance Team.
We are looking for a Head of Finance - Specialised & Health & Justice Commissioning who is highly motivated, talented, and well organised to lead the Specialised Commissioning and Health & Justice Finance Team.
Specialised services deemed suitable for delegation are due to be transferred to Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) in the South East Region from April 2025 with the Specialised Commissioning Finance team providing a financial service through a Hub model. The successful applicant will play a significant role in preparing for delegation and supporting finance staff through the transition. The postholder as part of the Commissioning Hub will support ICBs to deliver the benefits of more integrated commissioning.
• Senior oversight and input on financial planning, advice and reporting on Specialised Services and Health & Justice (H&J) commissioning budgets
• Lead the Specialised Services and H&J Commissioning finance team to support the Commissioning Directorate in the preparation of commissioning strategies, business cases and services specifications
• Responsible for the creation of systems and processes, to ensure the effective financial management of specialised and health & justice budgets. This will include effective budget setting for Specialised Commissioning (SC) and Health & Justice, provision of monthly monitoring, forecasting and effective Risk Management.
• Act as a key point of contact with ICB finance teams for SC services once delegated and provide information to ICBs that is clear, accurate and timely for these services.
