What you Can Expect as a New Start
Due to the continued growth in activities, Worley Consulting is seeking to fill a range of roles in our decarbonization advisory business within our Energy Chemical Resource team. The candidates will be key members of the decarbonization team, providing strategic direction, technical solutions, and business case support across all the aspects of our low carbon initiatives.
Our projects include master-planning, strategy, technical and economic analysis, configuration, planning, capital investment, concept studies, and due diligence. We support our clients by developing low carbon pathways, net-zero roadmaps, and long-term strategies. Take on a pivotal role in pioneering green initiatives, fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders dedicated to transforming the industry. You will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with subject matter experts across the entire value chain in a cross-disciplinary, multi-skilled environment, all united by a shared commitment to advancing the energy transition. Work Scope: Low Carbon Regulations
Regulations and policy are driving our client’s projects and the requirements. In our role as advisor we need to be able to interpret complex policy/legislation and translate into easy to understand concepts which clearly define key relevant points for our clients.
Candidate should be able to demonstrate:
* Experience working in international policy and regulation, with a focus on USA (IRA) and EU policy and its direction within the context of climate law and energy transition;
* Regulatory expertise on renewable fuels certification, legislative compliance requirements, standards, carbon tax, carbon markets, infrastructure and market regulation;
* 3-5 years plus with experience working with clients, projects and/or governments on relevant policy regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Provide consulting services for all types of low carbon/decarbonization services across different sectors including refining and petrochemicals, upstream, power, and financial community and other energy-intensive industries such as cement and metals processing. Prepare and present net zero roadmaps and low carbon strategies.
* Deliver consulting services to clients during all phases of an engagement, including benchmarking, gap analysis, solution identification, justification, prioritization, ranking, implementation, and close out.
* Support Low Carbon/Decarbonization strategy for regional growth – helping identify new areas for business, new clients or tools.
* Support marketing and business development activities and sell consulting engagement of various sizes.
* Meet and present to clients and assist with the selling process. We operate as a ‘seller-doer’ model – so we sell our own work. A key aspect of the job requires maintaining networks within the industry – both internal and external and proactively supporting sales activities – including client discussions, scope of work developments and discussion, proposals preparation, clarification meetings, and negotiations.
* Represent Worley Consulting on low carbon initiatives and the wider Worley Group as needed.
* Prepare and deliver conference papers for delivery at international events.
* Demonstrated technical expertise in one of the roles listed above.
Core Experience and Qualifications:
The candidates must demonstrate competency and experience in the following:
* Willingness to work within a ‘sell-do’ model, supporting business development activities, preparing proposals as well as project execution.
* Excellent communication skills including ability to produce concise reports and presentations appropriate for all levels.
* Strong self-starter and motivated to succeed.
* Identify new opportunities, leads and maintain network within the industry.
* Practical consulting experience – including scoping, selling and delivery.
* Significant experience of decarbonization/Low Carbon sectors.
* Confidence to work at all levels of a client organization.
* Desire to expand role and be adaptable to client’s needs.
Desirable:
* To be able to speak a second (and English) to a level of fluency that supports customers based in EMEA.
* Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
* Excellent stakeholder management & communication.
* Good working knowledge of MS Office and relevant tools for the role.
