Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 (with occasional on-call responsibilities for emergency situations).

Join a growing passenger transport company providing essential transportation services in Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding area. With a mixed fleet of over 80 vehicles, including PSV (Public Service Vehicles) such as buses and coaches, and light vehicles, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workshop Manager to lead our PSV engineering team of 10, ensuring the effective maintenance of our passenger transport fleet. Key Responsibilities:
* Drive workshop efficiency by effectively managing workload, prioritising repairs, and minimising vehicle downtime.
* Champion high maintenance standards across all workshop and roadside activities, ensuring adherence to and exceeding all DVSA legislation.
* Foster a positive and safe working environment through best practices, compliance with health and safety regulations, and effective team communication.
* Manage resources effectively, including staffing, overtime, holiday scheduling, and parts inventory.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion of all documentation and compliance with audit requirements.
* Contribute to the achievement of company objectives and service level targets by optimising workshop performance.
* Promote and uphold company values of safety, reliability, and customer service, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety procedures.
* Support training requirements for all staff, including apprentices, ensuring their development and competency.
* Report directly to Director level.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Relevant Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ) in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Engineering).
* Advanced Irtec Accreditation.
* Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable experience in a supervisory or management role within a PSV or HGV maintenance environment, leading a team of engineers.
* Strong analytical and numerical abilities, with experience in data analysis for performance monitoring and cost tracking.
* Proficient in computer applications, including workshop management software.
* Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
* Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other key departmental managers.
A Transport Manager CPC qualification would be advantageous as would PSV licence entitlements. However, for the right candidate we would provide training to obtain both.
