We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an interest in nutrition and dietetics who would enjoy the challenge of working as a Dietetic Support Worker within our friendly Paediatric Dietetic Team, specifically supporting the Children’s Complications of Excess Weight (CEW) Service.
The post holder will provide clinical and administrative support to the Lead CEW Dietitian and wider CEW team, assisting in a variety of settings, including clinics, home visits, and group education sessions e.g. cooking workshops. This role also involves resource development, nutrition analysis, and supporting families in making sustainable dietary and lifestyle changes.

The Dietetic Support Worker will play a key role in supporting the Paediatric Dietitian working within the specialist CEW Service. This includes:
· Direct patient contact – supporting children and families in clinics, at home, and in group sessions, offering practical guidance on nutrition and lifestyle changes.
· Resource development – assisting in the creation of educational materials for patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
· Nutrition analysis – supporting the dietitians by analysing food diaries and dietary intake using Nutritics software.
· Clinic support – assisting in multidisciplinary clinics, including measuring height and weight, preparing materials, and supporting patient engagement.
· Stock and data management – organising nutritional products, equipment, and printed materials, maintaining accurate records and databases.
· Liaison and communication – working closely with patients, families, and a range of professionals within both hospital and community settings.

• The Dietetic Support Worker will work alongside a specialist dietitian to deliver support to individuals in hospital or the community.
• The post-holder will be trained to assist the dietitian to deliver and review basic dietary advice and weight monitoring to patients and/or carers.
• The post holder will enter information onto enteral feed databases such as nutrition company databases and patient registration systems.
• The post holder will assist in the organisation and management of resources such as patient information leaflets and nutrition products.
• The post holder will facilitate training around nutrition screening and dietary strategies and collate data in relation to dietary intervention outcomes.
• The post holder will support with health promotion activities/national campaigns related to nutrition.
· The post holder will assist with the mentoring and supervision of student dietitians.
