Do you have a passion for sport and a talent for supporting young people? A fantastic primary school in Birmingham is looking for a Sports & Behaviour Mentor to join their team, supporting PE lessons, leading physical activities, and working closely with pupils who display challenging behaviour.
This is a hands-on, active role ideal for someone with a background in sports coaching, behaviour mentoring, or youth work. You'll use sport as a tool to motivate, engage, and support pupils both in and out of the classroom.
Your Role:
1. Support the delivery of PE lessons and sports coaching across the school
2. Lead structured physical activities and movement breaks
3. Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils showing social, emotional, or behavioural needs
4. Use sports-based interventions to help pupils regulate emotions and build confidence
5. Be a positive role model and part of the school's wider pastoral support team
What we are looking for:
1. Experience in sports coaching, youth mentoring, or behaviour support
2. Understanding of how physical activity can support emotional regulation
3. Ability to manage behaviour calmly and consistently
4. Confident leading groups and building rapport with children
Why Work with Long Term Futures?
1. Long-term, stable work with the potential for a permanent role.
2. No day-to-day supply - full-time consistency in one school.
3. A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.
4. Trial days instead of formal interviews to ensure the right fit.
5. Access to free CPD training, including Understanding Autism, Behaviour Management, and further professional development/refreshers.
