Ward 5A is a plastics, ENT and female surgery ward. It is a 30 bedded ward with 3 specialities, there is a wide range of skills to learn. You will work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team caring for patient pre and post surgery, also patients with complex wound management and ENT procedures. The role requires working days/ nights/ weekdays/weekends and bank holidays.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needs of patients from admission (or before) to discharge, with the involvement of patients and their relatives/carers.
To ensure a high standard of nursing care is performed at all times and assists in the review and regular update of these standard in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct and trust polices.
Participate within a team of nurse and support workers in providing continuity of patient care, patients physical, social and psychological needs are met.
Participate in internal shift rotation in order to provide 24-hour patient care.
Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing collages, the Multidisciplinary Team and all other relevant personnel.
Carry out clinical procedure and treatments in line with the patient’s plan of care.
