Job Summary
As the current British Asbestos Removal Contact of the year 2024 we are looking to enhance our management team. The Asbestos Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of asbestos management within the organisation. This role involves ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing asbestos-related projects, and leading a team to effectively mitigate risks associated with asbestos exposure. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Duties
1. Develop and implement asbestos management plans in accordance with regulatory requirements.
2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify asbestos-containing materials and assess risks.
3. Coordinate and manage asbestos removal projects, ensuring they are completed safely and efficiently.
4. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies regarding asbestos management issues.
5. Maintain accurate records of all asbestos-related activities, including inspections, removals, and training sessions.
6. Provide training and guidance to staff on asbestos awareness and safety procedures.
7. Utilise project management skills to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to timelines and budgets.
8. Drive initiatives to improve the organisation's overall approach to health and safety concerning asbestos management.
Requirements
1. Proven experience in asbestos management or a related field.
2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and reporting purposes.
4. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
5. Strong organisational skills to maintain comprehensive records and documentation.
6. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with various stakeholders.
7. Knowledge of IT systems relevant to project management is advantageous.
8. A proactive approach to problem-solving with an emphasis on safety compliance.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
