This exciting role is for a Security Officer which is a vital function to the overall operation and guarding provision for one of the worlds biggest law firms in Canary Wharf. It is a customer facing role with expectations to carry out access and egress duties and meet and greet functions at a variety of positions throughout the building. Information: Position: Corporate Security Officer Location: Canary Wharf, London Pay Rate: £14.56 per hour Hours: Average 42 hours per week Shifts: 4 on 4 off - Days & Nights Job Requirements: SIA Licence is required. Security experience - ideally in the corporate sector Able to communicate with all levels of Management and Customers Able to work on own initiative, Team Player, Proactive and adaptable. Work under pressure in a customer facing position and flexible to change. Able to carry out patrols and long periods of standing. Computer Literate and very comfortable using Microsoft office applications and different software - Capable of learning new software. Comfortable and confident in being a point of contact during an incident. Fluent in Oral and Written English Job Responsibilities: Monitor all areas of the building continuously to ensure a secure environment, addressing potential threats or issues as they arise to safeguard the premises, occupants, and assets. Follow company procedures and best practices to protect client assets, ensuring safety measures and security protocols are fully implemented and adhered to at all times. Maintain the integrity of the access control, CCTV, and security systems to ensure these technologies function properly and security standards are upheld. Prevent unauthorised access to the building, ensuring all entry points are monitored, and verify the identity of visitors, clients, contractors and staff to ensure only authorised individuals are granted entry. Ensure the operational and security integrity of all critical areas of the building, reporting any maintenance or security issues promptly. Assist with emergencies, evacuations, partial lockdown, lockdowns ensuring that procedures are followed efficiently and people are directed to safety during fire alarms or other emergency situations. Act as the first point of contact for visitors, building occupiers, contractors by making a positive first impression through confident, professional engagement and assist where required. Offer directions and share local area knowledge with visitors, clients, and staff, ensuring they have the information they need. Collaborate with receptionists during business hours to ensure smooth front-of-house service and adherence to security measures. Assist in corporate events, ensuring security measures are in place during and after the event, including post-event checks for security. Ensure that all access control systems are properly managed, conducting ID checks and verifying authorised entry into the building. Out of hours handle lost and found property logs and maintain accurate records. Follow all instructions from senior management to ensure security services are effective and that building protocols are adhered to. Ensure contractors on-site have valid permits and credentials to work during the required time frame. Complete badge access and card creation, ensuring full competence in access control system Manage the day-to-day access of the loading bay, Contractors pass office access control, ensuring all information is correctly recorded. Confidence in using the Fire Alarm panel in the FCC, confident in the process of seek and search and incident command in the FCC. Carry out building patrols, including walking up and down multiple flights of stairs on patrols that may last 1 - 2 hours. Carry out first aid response when directed by the control room. There may also be further areas of responsibility on an ad - hoc basis.
