Are you a qualified Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist who is looking for a new or progressive band 6 role?
Are you looking for a role that can offer flexibility as well as professional growth?
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic speech and language therapist to join our team based in Bracknell on an FTC until 31/03/2025.
In this role, you will be working with a mixed caseload from both mainstream and special schools, where you will be supporting children, young people, and their families from a wide variety of backgrounds.
We are looking for someone who has an understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people, and understanding of the value of integrated services is essential. You will act as an ambassador for our service and be calm and confident, dealing with challenging situations. You will collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team communicating with various parties to ensure that we deliver a seamless service.
As a service, we are big on “grow your own” and there will be opportunities for both internal and external training.
We operate Monday to Friday 9 – 5 and are open to both full and part-time applications.
Main duties of the job
* Take responsibility for a dedicated caseload and clinical role.
* Carry out clinical assessments within your level of clinical knowledge and skill.
* Identify relevant therapy needs from which you can develop and deliver an individualised management plan, with support from a senior therapist as needed.
* Contribute to and deliver training to school settings, parents, CYP, and staff, as part of therapy support and delivery.
* Contribute to the implementation and development of the impact-based model of clinical decision making.
* Work collaboratively with education, local authority, medical, and nursing staff to ensure delivery of a coordinated integrated service along with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy colleagues.
* Opportunity to develop leadership and management skills, overseeing junior staff and students.

Education/Qualifications/Training
* Professional Qualification
* Professional knowledge acquired through degree/ diploma
* Post graduate clinical experience in relevant professional background
* Ability to demonstrate required clinical knowledge of up to date speech and language interventions and service issues
* An understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people
* Clinical Educators course
Continuous Professional Development
* Recognised CPD in relevant Children’s therapy interventions
* Experience of contributing to the EHCP process
* Good knowledge of SEND legislation
Previous Experience
* Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
* Experience of working with families from a wide variety of backgrounds including age and ethnicity
* Experience of evaluating and managing a range of developmental speech, language and communication conditions
* Able to demonstrate a clinical knowledge and familiarisation with a range of standardised and non-standardised assessment tools relevant to speech and language therapy interventions
* Experience of delivering universal, targeted and specialised input in school settings
* Experienced and able to demonstrate a commitment to integrated working and close partnership working with external partners
* Experience with developing and delivering training programmes to support service delivery
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Evidence of a value system which puts the child at the heart of actions
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people
* Able to use IT to support and innovate clinical development
