GVR Solutions are working with an existing client of ours who specialise in fully supported hard metal roofing, facades, SFS, Rainscreen cladding systems and flat roofing for all types of projects. This client is looking to employ a buyer with roofing or cladding buying experience.
Responsibilities of the Buyer are:
1. Procurement and scheduling of products, materials, plant, and equipment
2. Ensuring purchases offer best value
3. Monitoring and reporting of price increases, updating internal spreadsheets
4. Tracking orders and proactively addressing any failed or late deliveries
5. Arranging the return of non-conforming products
6. Maintaining and developing the supply chain
7. Identification of new products
8. Processing of purchase ledger records
9. Proven track record in best-value procurement ensuring timely on-time delivery in line with project programs and budget
10. Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills to optimise pricing and commercial terms
11. Review the credentials of potential new suppliers and ensure that suppliers are compliant
12. Ability to forward plan for multiple site projects and prioritise workload across long-lead and real-time demands
13. Identify potential supply problems and solutions
14. Take individual ownership and collaborate to deliver team and company objectives
15. Implement and manage sound business processes and procedures
The Buyer must have/be:
1. Excellent interpersonal skills - strong relationship builder and communicator
2. Minimum 2 years Purchasing experience in roofing, cladding, or an aligned industry
3. Experience and/or education in procurement and inventory management
4. Working knowledge of computer programs for word processing, email, and spreadsheets
