Neway is looking for a HR Business Partner to join our client based with Sefton Council.
This role is starting on the 2nd of September, working 36 hours a week, initially for a 3 month contract that is likely to be extended.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join our team. This role will focus on providing HR business support specifically to Children’s Social Care and Education, ensuring the Council’s workforce is effectively managed in line with our policies and employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert HR advice and guidance to Children’s Services and schools on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
Support managers with complex employment-related procedures, including disciplinary, grievance, and capability cases.
Assist in the recruitment and selection of staff, ensuring compliance with Council policies and procedures.
Manage staff reviews, restructures, and redundancy processes, providing strategic HR advice to ensure effective workforce management.
Liaise with trade unions and participate in consultations and negotiations as required.
Support Legal Services in Employment Tribunals and other legal matters.
Work closely with the Occupational Health Unit to ensure effective welfare support services are provided to staff.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant employment legislation and HR best practices.
About You:
Qualifications: CIPD Qualified Level 7 (or equivalent) is essential. A management qualification is desirable.
Experience: You will have significant experience in a senior HR role, particularly within a large, diverse organization. Experience with trade union negotiations and industrial relations conflict resolution is essential.
Skills: Strong understanding of employment legislation, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in IT (Microsoft applications) are required. You should also be an effective team player with the ability to manage and prioritize a busy workload.
