Who can apply?
Applicants must be completing a placement as part of a degree course at a UK University, either through Year in Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year.

Department Overview
This role is a joint position between two teams:
* The Patient Advocacy and External Partnerships team, part of the Global Real World Evidence platform that sits within the Medical Affairs part of the organisation. The team plays a critical role in working with patients and organisations in Real World Data and Evidence generation.
* The Patient Advocacy team, part of UK Corporate Affairs. This team engages with patient organisations as critical partners and stakeholders for Pfizer UK.
Both teams work collectively to ensure the patient voice is heard and included in Pfizer's medicine and vaccine development. They focus on meeting the needs of healthcare professionals and patients, aligning with Pfizer's mission of 'Breakthroughs that change patients’ lives.'
What can I achieve and what will I be accountable for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?

* Presentation skills to immediate and wider teams
* Developing in-depth knowledge about patient involvement in research and other patient-centric topics
* Leadership by co-designing and implementing projects to address priorities shared with patients.
* Cross-functional teamwork
Other tasks will include:
* Involvement in projects involving patients across Pfizer working with other UK and Global cross-functional teams when appropriate. This will include planning and delivering innovative projects for both internal and external stakeholders.
* There will be opportunities to upskill colleagues in best practice.
* Assist the team with key projects and deliverables aligned with the operating plans, such as stakeholder mapping, project design and development, communication and implementation strategies, and developing website and social media content.

This will involve collaborating with other trainees and colleagues in various projects. You will also get opportunities to attend conferences, meetings, and training in relation to the projects that you work on as well as participating in Pfizer schemes such as volunteering.
When can I start?
Placements will start on 1st September 2025 and will run for 12 months.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Type of person we are looking for, in relation to ‘Skills’, ‘Knowledge’ and ‘Motivation’:
* Completing placement as part of University Degree either through Year in Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year
* On target for a good Degree Classification in a health or science related field
* Knowledgeable and passionate about patient involvement and the benefits of this
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
* Prioritisation skills to meet deadlines
* Able and self-assured to challenge the status quo
* Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
* Ability to use initiative and work effectively in a team environment
* Willingness to learn
* Self-assurance to liaise with Pfizer personnel at all levels
* Ability to generate creative and innovative ideas
* Excellent interactive and networking skills, tenacity, and the ability to influence others
* Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
