Job Introduction
A rewarding opportunity for a social worker to join our Children with Disabilities Team. This is a specialist social work team that offers support to children and young people with disabilities aged up to 18, and their families.
The service comprises of a team of social workers and assistants, and we work in partnership with children and young people, families, and other services such as health, education, and community organisations.

Role Responsibilities
* Comply with the standards set out by the professional body Social Work England.
* We are in search of Social Workers who are innovative and resilient, who can bring new skills and experience to the role. In Milton Keynes, a proudly diverse city, you will be in a fortunate position to make a difference in a city where 50% of our residents are under 35.
* Ensure that all children in need, in need of protection, and/or in care are safeguarded and their well-being is promoted effectively through the application of specialist theory, practical and procedural knowledge.
* Ensure a range of interventions appropriate to the needs of the families are provided to support children in need and at risk to live safely within their family wherever possible.
* Assessments, care planning and case work reviews are conducted in line with legislation, and agreed national standards, performance targets and regulatory requirements are met.
Ideal Candidate
* A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* Committed to supporting children, young people with disabilities and their families and has the resilience to go that extra mile to ensure they achieve their potential.
* Able to think outside the box, is able to challenge and make evidenced based decisions.
* Willing to work collaboratively as part of a team in sharing knowledge and supporting team development.
* For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. You'll be able to travel in and outside of Milton Keynes which may sometimes include working outside of office hours. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.
* Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.
