Job summary
Rotherham Hospice is seeking two skilled and reliable Maintenance Operatives tojoin our team working hours per week on a 4 on 4 off basis covering 7 daysper week.
Reporting to the Head of Facilities, the Maintenance Operative will be responsiblefor performing a variety of maintenance tasks at the hospice building and itshospice shops.
This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetics ofthe hospice facilities to support the delivery of high-quality care and services topatients and their families.
Main duties of the job
Building Maintenance:
1. Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including repairs, inspections, and preventivemaintenance, to ensure the safety and functionality of the hospice building.
2. Perform minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, heating, and ventilation systems asneeded, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
Grounds Maintenance:
3. Maintain the exterior grounds of the hospice building, including landscaping,gardening, and general upkeep of outdoor areas.
4. Clear pathways, parking areas, and entrances of debris, snow, and ice during inclementweather to ensure safe access for staff, patients, and visitors.
Hospice Shop Maintenance:
5. Perform maintenance tasks at the hospice shops, including repairs to fixtures, fittings,and equipment, to ensure a safe and pleasant shopping environment for customers.
6. Assist with minor renovations, painting, and decorating as needed to maintain theappearance and functionality of the shops.
Health and Safety Compliance:
7. Adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures at all times, ensuringcompliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
Emergency Response:
8. Respond to emergency maintenance requests and incidents outside of regular workinghours as needed, providing timely and effective solutions to resolve issues andminimise disruption to hospice operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
9. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders,inspections, and equipment maintenance schedules.

Documentation and Reporting:
19. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders,inspections, and equipment maintenance schedules.
20. Prepare reports and updates on maintenance tasks, projects, and expenditures forreview by the Head of Facilities and senior management.
21. Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.

Experience

22. Previous experience in maintenance, building

24. Knowledge of basic maintenance techniques and
