~ Wellness Voucher Programme : The Procurement Assistant will play a key role in the Project’s sourcing capabilities and supply chain. The role holder will be responsible for finding and evaluating suppliers, products, and services, and acquiring the most cost-efficient and timely deals without compromising on quality.
Assist in developing and implementing a purchasing strategy for the project, in alignment with the Company's business strategy.
Challenge, enhance and standardise existing procurement practices to ensure conformity of approach, generate economies of scale and deliver better value for money.
Procure suppliers, including negotiating and agreeing contract terms and conditions.
Ensure suppliers are following the relevant project requirements, using the relevant standards and contract technical specifications requirements.
Ensure suppliers are following all relevant employer, legal and regulatory requirements.
Ensure purchase orders are prepared and monitored in accordance with the Contract and Project Quality Management System requirements.
Provide the necessary liaison and co-ordination between the Financial and Commercial Departments and any other relevant departments on the project.
Co-ordinate interfaces with other department managers and with stakeholders, vendors, suppliers and subcontractors.
Liaise with applicable legal and regulatory entities and follow the BREEAM requirements.
Build good working relationships with all staff of those working within the project, help to motivate them and develop their understanding of procurement.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management / Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of Procurement experience in a similar role.
Minimum of 7 years of Procurement Management experience in a similar role.
Accreditation from Supply Chain industry organisation (CIPS or equivalent).
Experience of procurement in building projects.
Experience of shaping both the procurement and commercial strategy of the organisation.
Knowledge of procurement procedures and practices, including aspects of negotiation and contract law, as well as a dexterity in reading the market.
Proven experience in the development and implementation of procurement and supply chain tools, techniques and practices.
Demonstrated track record of delivering results and achieving cost savings and improvements in other supply chain metrics.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary project team environment.
Proficient with computer software, including the Microsoft Office suite, in particular with Outlook and Excel.
