Our client is one of the largest privately owned plant hire companies in the North of England with 8 depots. Established over 70 years ago, it provides a complete hire and sales service for a wide range of Construction Plant, Tools, Excavator Attachments and Secure Site Accommodation. They are now looking for a Depot Manager to run their Manchester Depot covering the North West
Key responsibilities:
* Oversee the efficient running of the Depot, comprising 10 staff and ensure it is running effectively and profitably.
* Expand business opportunities with existing key account customers and be the central point of contact
* Focus on converting and developing new business for the depot, following leads through the web and the sales team.
* Place a high priority on the implementation and maintenance of the health and safety management system to ensure compliance with ISO 45001
The candidate:
* It is Essential that you have experience of Depot management within the construction hire industry
* Experience of sales with strong negotiation, relationship, and man management skills.
* Be highly motivated, self-reliant and capable of making difficult decisions under pressure. This includes taking ownership of problems until they are resolved and going that extra mile to ensure the customer is happy.
* Understand the depot cost base and what is required to run a profitable operation.
* Can manage a fully complaint transport fleet
* Full understanding of hire management information systems and be IT literate
* Have a full driving licence
